This manga is a direct adaptation of the first season of the anime K (more easily referred to as K Project by fans). There are differences in how plot points are brought up, most noticeable in the usage of the fox mask in the manga. It was likely a detail to be originally included but was cut out later into the anime’s production. The art felt a little odd at times, particularly during serious scenes in which there wasn’t enough realism or grit for a serious tone. On the other hand, the art fit Shiro’s personality more, and pages with him shined. Unfortunately, the printed medium doesn’t allow us to fully experience K’s impressive visuals. Due to this, I’d recommend watching the anime over reading this manga. However, if you’re interested in how anime and manga are produced, it might be worth reading this one just to see the differences between the two.
